Health and Fitness – Day 41 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

I need to focus on my health and fitness today, just coming back from vacation, I ate too much ice cream, too much chocolate and too many french fries.

It’s so simple…. what I eat today is going to have a multiplying effect on what happens to my physical well being in the future. So why the rub? Why is it so difficult.

Because I focus on enjoying this moment, even if it means impacting my life in a negative way a few seconds, or a few minutes, or a few hours afterwards.

Today I’m committed to reminding myself that in order to live the life of freedom that I’m looking for, everything counts, including, health and fitness.

Goal Setting 101 – Day 40 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

Goal Setting 101 is choosing a goal that resonates with you to your core. Looking back on my goals, I would first choose an activity that really excites me before I choose what goals to focus on.

I’m SO excited about the future right now! Here are my personal growth and development goals for today:

1) Be a model Father for my kids be being the man I want them to become (both in my public and private life). Tonight, I’m going to take my kids to the Library and start doing this every Monday night. Every week we will check out one book and read this book, study this book, and focus on this book for the week.

2) Be the fighter for the underdog today. Today I want to focus on the lives that I can touch by the line of work I’m in. YES! The time is up for the banks and credit bureaus. The laws need to be changed and made more fair to the average American. I will do this by getting caught up with all the “stuff” that needs to be done because I’ve been gone for a week. This will be a VERY productive day.

Step it Up – Day 29 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

Step is up is my motto for today.

Tomorrow, I leave for a week to go to the Grand Caymans with Lily. It’s going to be the first time we will be away from the kids for a week. I’m so excited, yet SO Slammed with things to do.

My alarm went off this morning at 3:58… I didn’t want to get up. I found myself worried about all the stuff I needed to get done. Then I thought to myself, just get it done! Thus, I’m stepping it up today.

No more excuses, no more overwhelm, no more justification, just results.

I can have it all. Just Step it Up.

No More Excuses – Day 28 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

Simply put…. no more excuses.

Douglass Andrew, one of the great mentors in my life talks about living “Above and Below The Line.”

It looks like this:

Accountability and Responsibility
—————————-
Complaining, Justifying, Being Shameful (poor me!)

If you live above the line you are responsible for your actions. If you live below the line, you are simple making excuses why you aren’t doing what you said you would do.

Gary Ryan Blair’s integrity pledge puts it best….

I HONOR every commitment
I will KEEP every promise
I will ACHIEVE every goal

Who is up for playing this game with me? No excuses…. just a life of your dreams.

Be Consistent – Day 27 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

Gary Ryan Blair and the 100 Day Challenge is the perfect example of how to be consistent.

- I know that every day I’m going to get a QUALITY five minute video that will inspire me.
- I know that every conference call I’m on with Gary will provide me great insight.
- I know that he will not say something without following through on his commitment.

Because of this, it’s not surprising that he has a best selling book, the top self improvement program on the web, and a great example of what a Father should be – being consistent.

It goes back to his Integrity Pledge:

- Honor every commitment
- Keep every promise
- Achieve every goal

Can you imagine what your life would be like if you followed this path?

I can speak for myself, my life would be much different. Today I will be more consistent.

Pay Attention to Detail – Day 26 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

If you pay attention to detail, imagine how much quicker you will get to your goals.

Imagine if a painter didn’t pay attention to detail, would you ever hire him again? What about the contractor that is building your hours, or the person that is washing your car?

Why is it any different for us? Why is it different if you are working on a computer or a desk? It shouldn’t. As Gary mentions in his personal growth and development 100 Day Challenge, the tiniest of details can turn into your greatest achievement or greatest failure.

Today I’m meeting with Gary for a 2-day brainstorming exercise – obviously, I’m going to pay attention to detail.

Behavior Means – Day 23 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

Behavior means that you are either moving forward your goal or moving away from them. Not your words, your behavior.

Per the 100 Day Challenge, Behavior Never Lies:

1) Model the behavior I want in others
I think about how I tell my kids they can’t have ice cream, and when they go to bed, I eat ice cream! Busted.

2) If you make a rule, or design a process – follow it.
I need to make my rules more black and white, and not just in my head.

3) Reward the behavior or desires that you like
I do this often…. at least one comes natural for me.

4) Do what you say you are going to do
Making my rules more black and white will see how I’m doing with this one.

5) Honor Your Commitments – do what you say you are going to do
I feel I do this…

Behavior means that you are being the person you what to be, or not. Behavior means that I’m being the type of man I want my daughter to marry, or not.

Extend Your Reach – Day 22 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

Deciding to “Extend Your Reach” is the simple way for all of us to improve our lives. How are you going to extend your reach today? Read? Connect with family? Connect with friends? Make five more prospecting calls?

Here is what I did, and what I will focus on tomorrow.

- Have a powerful Strategic Coach session and extend my reach by connecting with people I don’t know.
- Start reading a book that my Coach, Dan Sullivan, recommended “The Rational Optimist.”
- Look for the opportunity that is waiting… and is just sitting there in front of me.

Leap Frog Strategy – Day 21 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

Day 21 of 100 – Leap Frog Strategy – Personal Growth and Development of Philip Tirone, Credit Scoring Expert and Champion for the Underdog

Per Gary Ryan Blair, Leap Frogging is when you have a Breakthrough when you jump from one level of success to the next, while skipping the middle steps. He says that for a leapfrog to work, you must act as if success if guaranteed….in other words BE BOLD and put yourself out there on a daily or hourly basis – be courageous.

Just yesterday I found myself not wanting to call the person because I didn’t want to “bother him.” How pathetic! I need to be BOLD in courageous in all my actions.

Combining this with a belief that I can and will accomplish anything is a great combination.
