Virtue of Patience – Day 56 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

Patience is a virtue, so that means it must learned through the experiences of being impatient.

So many times I have look at my personal growth and development and have been frustrated with my results. It’s never fast enough for me.

That being said, what is the rush? Maybe it’s the patience that I need to learn that will bring me the mindset, and the opportunities my way?

Being Optimistic – Day 55 – Personal Growth and Development

Let’s focus on being optimistic. This is so easy for me, becuase of my Father, Ty Tirone.

I remember when my Dad was diagnosed with Cancer. He went to explain to everyone he met, why, being diagnosed with Cancer, it was the best thing that every happened to him. Not only that, when he explained it, he did so with so much enthusiasm, and passion that you naturally believe him.

In the end, show me the downside to being optimistic. Life is more fun, you believe that things are going your way (whether it’s a coincidence or not) and naturally people grow closer to you, and want to be around you. I’ll choose that option vs. the other.

Indomitable Spirit – Day 53 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

Do you have an “indomitable spirit” or do you just have a “spirit.

Better question…. how quickly do you give up on something that you are working on?

How quickly did you give up on your diet?

How content are you with your current job, when deep down you know you should be making double your income?

When did you decide for yourself that the dreams you had for yourself, weren’t “realistic?”

What if all this was a simple test for your spirit? If you push on, continue to have faith, you would be growing into the person who could achieve what you wanted, but because you stopped, you will never have the opportunity.

I personally consider that everything that happens to me… the good, bad and ugly, is absolutely perfect for the growth of my “indomitable spirit.”

I would ask you… how do you want your kids to think about you? With a spirit or an indomitable one?

Law of Exposure – Day 52 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

I’m seen the “law of exposure” work this way in my life…. what you are around most, becomes normal to you.

When I was young, my Father told me that my income would be the average of the five people I was around the most…. in other words, the “Law of Exposure.”

I’m using the same thought process with my kids right now…. what kind of toys are they playing with the most? What friends are they playing with the most?

For me…. it’s still the same. Who am I being around the most? Who am I talking on the phone to the most? What am I doing the most with my time?

I see this all the time with my credit scoring clients. They come to be wanting different results, yet, they do not want to change their life. Not their actions, not their spending habits, and not their friends. Unfortunately, many times you need to.

This is who you will become, this is that “law of exposure” that Gary talks about.

What about you?

Demonstrate Trust – Day 51 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

My father would tell me this all the time, “I would rather trust nine times and be burned once, than never to trust at all.” I’m my fathers son.

Today… I will trust more.

Increase Your Contribution – Day 49 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

How can I increase my contribution?

By spending more time with my kids.
By giving my wife foot massages every night.
By listening when my employees want to talk.
By focusing more at church.
By working out harder in my work outs.
By giving more at church….

….. this will all come back 10 fold to me.

Being Unreasonable and a Meeting With Mother Theresa – Day 47 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

Being “Unreasonable” has opened so many doors for me and given me so many opportunities that I would have simply missed.

Before she died, I had two chances to connect with Mother Theresa of Calcutta, India. The first time is when I was in Rome with a priest and he wanted to say mass at this “convent.” I followed and as I was on the alter with him serving mass, I noticed that Mother Theresa was attending.

The second time, I was volunteering in Calcutta India at one of Mother Theresa’s houses for the poor and dying. At the time she was very sick and was not allowed to leave the “Mother House” where her successors where praying for her and the future of her order.

The rules were clear – no volunteers were allowed to go to the Mother House. I decided to be unreasonable and go anyway.  I found out that every morning they had mass at 5:30 a.m., and every morning Mother Theresa attended.

At 5:20 a.m., I showed up at the Mother House, while the streets of Calcutta were bustling with action and activity. I walked up to the door, knocked on it, a nun answer and ask, “How can I help you?” I responded with, “I’m here for mass.” She said, “Okay.” (As if I knew where to go – it was a VERY big place.)

I went upstairs to a huge room with 500 other nuns and me in the very back.  A sea of nuns… and me.

When mass was over, Mother Theresa was wheeled by me (in her wheel chair) she saw the cross I was holding, and kissed it.

That cross has gone on to heal many people, some of which have been terminally ill. Now, the cross travels from person to person who needs it. If that is you, email me and be prepared for a miracle.

I have thought to myself many times… if I wasn’t unreasonable there, if I didn’t show up at 5:20 a.m. and ask to attend, this would have never happened.

- NOTE – I have two pictures showing this, but can’t figure out how to post them and I really want to get to bed.  If you want to see them, let me know and I’ll send them to you.

Be unreasonable!!!!

Passion – Day 46 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

Passion is the one thing that nobody can take away from me…. they feel it.

I love going against the big banks…. because I love being the person that sticks up for the underdog. The person that has no voice, or chooses not to use it.

When I was a child I very short and small. For example, my freshman year of high school, I weighed 95 pounds and was only 4 foot 9 inches tall.

Because of my size I got bullied, beat up, picked on and would come home with bruises on my arms.

This has got to be why I have so much passion about helping the little guy. About being the type of Credit Scoring Expert that doesn’t just give advice, but fights for the truth. That fights to equality…. This is my passion. I love it. Nobody can take this from me.

Embrace Failure – Day 45 of 100 – Personal Growth and Development

We have all heard in our life to “embrace failure” and that is exactly what I needed to hear today.

For the last two years, I’ve been failing non-stop when in comes to by business. From 16 to 36 years old I always made more money year after year… but for the past two years, I’ve lost money, had to take money out of my savings to provide for my family. Failure.

Or is it? Is it just getting a MASSIVE education in life over the past two years? I’m choosing to believe that the last two years is part of plan and it is turning me into the exact man I need to be for the next 100 years of my life.

I’m embracing the failure, all of it, and am open to whatever other failure comes my way. I’m close. I feel it.
