Undoubtedly, you’ve heard about the best-selling smash book, The 4-Hour Work Weekwritten by Tim Ferriss. First published April 27, 2007, this book has gone through more than 40 printings, in over 35 languages, and have logged over 30,000 comments posted on blogs, with hundreds of people having shared their case studies and experiments from all around the world.
Now, nearly 2 years later, a new and expanded version (with more than 100 pages of new, cutting-edge content) is getting ready to debut on Tuesday, Dec. 15th.
My good friend and mentor, Joe Polish is friends with Tim Ferriss and is doing a LIVE teleseminar on Monday, December 14th, at 6:00 PST. They are charging $29 for access to the call.
I asked Joe for a favor, FREE access to the call for my past clients and friends. He agreed. So, anyone that is interested, you can get on this call, absolutely FREE. Here are the details:
Here is the latest with this “California Tax.” My wife Lily and I have decided to invest over $10,000 of our own money to officially poll Californian’s and determine what they really think about this “California Tax.”
As of now, when I contact the press or radio station they are not interested in how “I think” Californian’s feel, they want to know the fact. Thus, this is why we are investing in the polling information. Here is what we are going to find out… and you will be notified first of the results:
What percentage of Californian’s know about it?
What percentage of Californian’s think it’s fair?
What percentage think we will get the money back?
What percentage consider it a tax increase?
And my favorite question…
Who would you rather manage your family’s wealth, the California Legislature or Britney Spears!
Truth be told, we all throw those fine-print privacy notices in the trash, right? After all, who has time to read them? And who can understand them anyway?
Good news! Those hard-to-read, legalese, fine-print notices from credit card companies, banks, and other financial institutions might be a thing of the past. Federal agencies are pushing a user-friendly form that uses large print, common language, and a ton of tables and graphs that illustrate cause and effect. Though the forms are not mandatory, banks and other financial institutions might opt to embrace them as a means of polishing their tarnished reputations. One step forward for consumer-activist groups!
Tell me your credit card horror story below. What didn’t you know that you think they “should have” told you or should have been more “clear” about?
In years past, retailers couldn’t stock their shelves fast enough with Guitar Hero, the music video game that retailed for $150 to $200. Ebay sellers made a fortune at Christmas time selling the sought-after video game for twice, even three times its retail price.
The recession might be taking a toll on $200 games. The hottest toy this year for youngsters is a $7.99 fake hamster called a “Zhu Zhu Pet.”
And once again, retailers cannot stock their shelves with enough of this year’s hottest toy to meet demand. So eBay sellers are again having a field day, selling the item online for $35, nearly four times the retail value.
If you are lucky enough to see a Zhu Zhu Pet at Toys “R” Us, Wal-Mart, Target, or another retail outlet, grab it immediately! In fact, grab a few. If you don’t have any relatives or friends on the lookout for these hot toys, you can finance your own holiday shopping list by joining the world of online auctions, selling them for a fat profit on eBay!
The plain truth is this: the credit-reporting system was established to help businesses, not consumers. In fact, the system works against the average American.
Here is how the system should work:
If you pay your bills on time, you should have a high credit score.
If you have no late payments on your credit card, you should have a high credit score.
If you pay a collection account, your credit score should increase.
Credit card companies should be required to report positive information to the credit bureaus.
Guess what? The credit-scoring system does not work this way.
I have worked in credit-related industries for over 10 years and have seen firsthand how unfair, unjust, and downright criminal this system truly is. In fact, until recently, credit-grading organizations would not even tell consumers how they were graded. Imagine that—you receive a grade that plays a critical role in your ability to secure loans, but you don’t know the criteria by which you are being graded!
And even now, the credit-scoring system is confusing and shrouded in mystery. And unfortunately, the system has always acted against the average hard-working American. Pay your bills on time and in full? It’s not enough. Think you are behaving responsibly by paying a collection account? Your score will drop. Use a small percentage of your limit? The credit card company is not required to report this information.
As a result, credit card companies and the banks that give out home loans are freely and easily able to take advantage of the very people they are supposed to be helping. Because of the twisted, nonsensical, unethical system operating today, many of us—most of us!—are overpaying on our credit obligations without even realizing it.
Earlier this year, I went to Washington, D.C., to lobby our politicians to change the credit laws. I went to a financial literacy summit to discuss the problems with the credit laws. I wanted to talk about the average Americans who were taken advantage of. I went to Washington without any tangible backing, without even a single signature showing that my voice was not alone. Not surprisingly, I didn’t get a single response.
I’ve written my senators and congressmen. In return, I have received form letters thanking me for my time and assuring me my concerns would be taken under advisement. If I showed that my voice was just one of millions, I would get more than a pathetic rubber-stamped letter. I would get results.
That is why am creating a petition and by the time I return to Washington D.C. in March of 2010, I will return with a million signatures, a million voices—if not more. Behind each voice is a story that illustrates just how wrong the current system is.
I want to hear your story, and I want Congress to hear your story. I want to change the ending of your story. So please, share your story by leaving a comment below with:
Why you think the credit system is unfair?
How have you been negatively affected by the system and/or your credit card company?
Having your voice heard will get the banks where they belong — on our side. And with the banks on our side, the politicians will be on our side. With the politicians on our side, the credit laws will finally change.
My personal Hypnotherapist, Steve G. Jones just released a new book today, called “You Can Attract It.”
For today only, he is offering thousands of dollars worth of other products – FREE. Why? Because he wants to promote his new book.
Although I haven’t read this book, I’m a big fan and believer of Steve G. Jones and that is why I’m buying my copy today, and recommend you do the same!
